Projeto Evoluir is mainly slated for youths between 17 and 24 years of age and pursues the qualification of mechanics and electricians in industrial maintenance. The objective of Votorantim Cimentos is to prepare qualified manpower for the future in the communities where it is present, generating job opportunities and contributing to the development and growth of the region.

The course, which is given in 1,200 hours and divided into three 400-hour modules, is geared towards the municipalities of Laranjeiras (Sergipe); Sobradinho (Federal District); Corumbá (Mato Grosso do Sul); Cantagalo (Rio de Janeiro) and Nobres (Mato Grosso) which will initially receive the first module. The program covers a period of 8 to 18 months.

A total of 40 youths are chosen in each municipality through a selective process coordinated by SENAI, with the support of the Human and Organizational Development team of the Units of Votorantim Cimentos. At some units the selective process will be open to employees, which may occupy up to 50% of the vacancies. The determinant prerequisites for this participation are: be at least 18 years of age up to the conclusion of the first module, full primary education, besides characteristics such as determination, good relationship skills, interest in learning and habitual residence in the community where the plant is located.

To complete the education of the youths, the following aspects were included in the course in addition to the technical part: preparation for interpersonal relationships, professional choice, technological innovations and their impacts on the lives of people and on society, state, citizenship and work.

During or after the course the best students can be taken on by the company, providing there is a position opening on the company's staff or within the minor apprentice quota.
