The use of natural resources is an environmental matter of extreme importance to Votorantim Cimentos. The company has always pursued the deployment of the best and most efficient technologies for its productive process. All of our kilns are of dry basis technology, and most of them feature an efficient system of towers for energy recovery.

Our CO2 emission reduction strategy includes:
1. Investment in research and development to increase additions (decrease of the use of clinker) without altering the quality and even incorporating some extra characteristics to our products, depending on the type of application.
2. Investing in technologies that improve the thermal efficiency and prioritization of the use of kilns with greater energy efficiency.
3. Optimization of the energy matrix, using more biomasses and industrial waste with a lower emission factor (kg CO2/Kcal).
