The company explores space to increase the delivery area and shorten lead times for retailers located at a distance of 50 and 100 kilometers from the unit. Votorantim Cimentos has opened a Distribution Center inside the Salto de Pirapora unit (São Paulo). The objective of the creation of this new DC is to explore the space that exists in the dispatch area of the unit to increase the delivery area and shorten lead times. With 700 square meters of area and the capacity to store 1,800.00 tons of stock, the new DC is designed to optimize the distribution of the company’s cements and mortars, shortening the delivery time and improving customer service. According to Marcelo Silva, manager of the Unit, the main benefit of this initiative for retailers from the region is that they can plan the cement and mortar inventory, contributing so that these storeowners do not have to immobilize their capital. "From now on we will be offering delivery on the same day as the order for distances of up to 50 kilometers, and for distances up to 100 kilometers, the delivery will be made no later than one day after the order", explains the executive. The Distribution Center of Salto is located in Bairro do Arado, a neighborhood close to Trevo de Piedade, which facilitates the work of carriers and should satisfy the requirements of retailers from cities in the Region of Sorocaba. In addition to Cimentos Votoran, the company is now also distributing an average of 800 tons per month of other products from the portfolio of Votorantim Cimentos - mortars, grouts and white cement.
